I did a project a few years back titled “If I stayed in L.A.”. When I was a little girl, my parents and I moved from Los Angeles to Atlanta. Mom said she wanted me to grow up in a less toxic and stable environment. There has always been a part of me that has wanted to stay out of a particular spotlight because of it. This project is my funny way of talking about what if my life went the another, very possible direction of being in gossip media like others my age with my background. I took tons of celebrity gossip pictures and pictures of me either staged or candid, and meshed them together. This is one of my faves from the series of me and Lindsay Lohan.
I love this portrait. This was taken on the set of Michael’s video “Keep it in the Closet”, which was directed by Ritts. I admire when a photo feels like a moment captured instead of posed, even when it’s completely staged. I think this particular image is a great example.
Rest in peace, Michael and Herb.
Night of the Hunter is a masterpiece. It’s one of the greatest film noir’s ever made. The black and white cinematography is SPECTACULAR. I’ve come to realize I am more drawn to black and white in my photo than color. I can do both well, but I have a relationship and understanding with black and white that I know is deeper. When I see this film I only pray that my sensibility of light and shadows, composition and drama can one day be as breathtaking as this film. The film itself is haunting and poignant, acted incredibly and bizarre. It’s a must see if you enjoy the classics. Here is a 10 min clip of its famous River Scene. I hope you will see why I’m taken aback as an imagist myself.
In the past month and a half I’ve lost a total of 25 lbs. After I did the 10 day master cleanse I began using myfitnesspal to put myself on a calorie plan. It’s helped me keep the weight off and learn so much about what I put into my body. I’ve been wanting to do the cleanse again, but it’s a bit extreme. My best friend’s mom gave me a big bottle of African Bush Mango. She had been using it since December and has lost a solid 15lbs. She shared with me the history of the suppressant: in tribes the base form of this juice would be carried and used to curb appetites while hunting. It was clear she had lost weight but it seemed too good to be true. I asked her how long it took to kick in and she said immediately. Portion control has always been my biggest issue and she said this would help. IT WORKS. I can’t tell everyone enough: IT WORKS!!! You take a few sips before you want to eat and your body is kinda like “Nah, just a little is fine”. Lol. It’s hard to explain, but it’s amazing. You can get it at GNC. It flies off the shelves. Its what has helped me drop another 5lbs suddenly. If anyone else tries it, please let me know your results!
